Crossrail

Crossrail Limited is building a new railway for London and the South East.

Picture
It will be known as the Elizabeth line when services commence in December 2018, and will  carry over 200 million people a year between Reading and Heathrow in the west to Shenfield and Abbey Wood in the east via through 42km of new tunnels under London.

Health and Safety is Crossrail’s number one value. As part of its ‘target zero’ approach to health and safety that everyone has the right to go home every day unharmed, it has embedded a health and safety culture into all aspects of the project.

As the largest infrastructure project in Europe, with over 10,000 people working across over 40 construction sites, the organisation is in an ideal position to lead by example and leave a positive legacy for the infrastructure and construction sector in the Health and Safety initiatives.

Supporting GB Health & Wellbeing Week
Crossrail is committed to protecting the overall health of its frontline workers, and is working with other employers in safety critical industries from across London, as part of the Great Britain Health and Wellbeing Week campaign.

During this week the project will focus on two areas; health and Crossrail’s ‘Golden Rules’. There will be a series of workshops, activities and toolbox talks around resilience and mental health, and a focus on good health and safety practices. Great Britain Health and Wellbeing Week supports Crossrail’s goal of raising the bar on occupational health and wellbeing across the industry and improve delivery of related activities across the project.
